Adat cukur jambul is a traditional Malay ceremony celebrated for the new born baby. This occasion normally held on the 7th day of birth with a celebration of "Kenduri" and "Aqiqah". In this celebration if the baby is a boy, 2 goats will be cut while only one goat for a baby girl. The parents of the baby will invite all neighbors from the village or residential area and they will celebrate together.
The peak of the celebration is whereby the baby will be pass from one person to another in their arm cradled cutely in the big circle and the baby will be sprinkled with kinda holy water with "bunga rampai" , a little/certain portion of the baby's hair will be cut off (cukur jambul) and the baby's mouth with be sprinkled with the holy water and sweet/sour/salty food as symbol of knowing and experiencing the new life.
While the above occasion is taking place, there will be a singing of " Marhaban"

This time, I was invited to Woodlands street. Not as OP but as a guest. Unfortunately for me as a wedding photography lover, can't leave my baby alone at home.
As I bring her along, few snaps were taken for my own memories.
Today its about a lovely couple who falling in love and swear to live toghether 'til end, Shaherien & Leonita. Shaherien is a brother to my colleague, Rino (wearing grey cheong sam).
Arrived a bit too early that day, as Chin and I has nothing to do except waiting and puffing cigarettes until we both were all out. That morning also, the sky is showing its darkness and generously showering its rain. But just for a while, its like a sign that this couple were blessed when a bright sun shine appears...
Not so surprise about their session due to its similarity back here in Malaysia.
